Cardi B wins lawsuit against YouTuber, awarded $1.25 million

Cardi B has been awarded $1.25 million after winning a defamation suit filed against a YouTuber for invading the privacy of the 29-year-old rapper.

According to People, the court found that Latasha Kebbe (known as Tasha Kay) "intentionally" caused "emotional distress" to the rapper.

The verdict was delivered on Monday after a two-week trial during which both sides presented their stand.

The Bodak Yellow hit-maker moved court in March 2019 to take action against Kebbe's 'malicious' comments accusing the I Like It rapper of cheating on her husband and other charges.

The Grammy-winning rapper also said that the social media personality attempted to 'destroy' his career through baseless allegations, which first started in April 2018.

On January 13, the rapper told the jury that he also considered ending his life amid claims made by unWinewithTashaK, a YouTube channel.

According to Billboard, the A-lister "felt extremely suicidal and helpless." TMZ also quoted her, "I felt defeated and depressed and didn't want to sleep with my husband."

Meanwhile, Kebbe denied the rapper's allegations and filed his suit which was dismissed in July, Rolling Stone reported.
