Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana will no longer use animal fur

Italian luxury conglomerate Dolce & Gabbana will stop using fur in all of its collections from this year, the fashion brand said in a joint statement with animal rights association Humane Society International on Monday.

"The entire fashion system has an important social responsibility role that should be fostered and encouraged," said the group's communications and marketing officer, Fedel Usai.

The label will switch to eco-fur clothing and accessories while continuing to collaborate with Master Furrier to preserve jobs and know-how.

To appeal to younger customers, increasingly sensitive to ethical and environmental issues, several brands are already selling animal fur, including Armani, Kering, Prada, Valentino, Versace, Moncler and luxury e-commerce platform Yokes Net-a-Porter. Committed to ban , - Reuters
