ISLAMABAD: The Legal Forum for Kashmir (LFK) on Friday launched its "dossier" on the extrajudicial killing of undertrial prisoner Zia Mustafa, lauding the efforts of British law firm Stoke White.

The dossier contains comprehensive details and established facts about the illegal detention of Zia Mustafa, which has led to her extrajudicial killing by Indian occupation forces.

Fifteen-year-old Zia Mustafa, a resident of Rawalkot, AJK, accidentally crossed the Line of Control on January 13, 2003; and was arrested by the Indian occupation forces. Zia was portrayed as a "foreign terrorist" by the Indian military and media. The dossier states that Zia was a minor while crossing the LoC inadvertently and was implicated in terrorism by Indian forces and agencies.

The dossier further states that a trial court in Shopian framed charges against Jia, but the government was unable to provide any evidence against her. According to the court the prosecution's evidence closed. The State of Jammu and Kashmir then filed a criminal appeal before the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Srinagar Wing, which was also dismissed.

Speaking on the occasion, Occupied Kashmir's lawyer Nasir Qadri said that Zia Mustafa was killed extra-judicially; The dossier mentions 111 fake police encounters that took place between 2000 and 2021; A child under the age of 18 cannot be imprisoned by law. The dossier also lists Pakistan-India prisoner exchange lists and Zia's name appears in the list, he said; Dossier exposes Indian judiciary and security forces.
