PM seeks report on police violence against MQM-P's peaceful protest

 


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Thursday that he took note of the violence used by the Sindh police against the MQM's peaceful protest against the province's local government law and sought a report from the Interior Ministry, Sindh Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police.

PM Imran wrote on his Twitter account, "I have taken note of the violence used by the Sindh Police against the peaceful protest of the MQM against the LG Act of Sindh, and sought a report from the Ministry of Interior, Sindh CS and Sindh IG." After receiving this report, he announced to take necessary action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, Syed Tariqul Hasan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. Matters related to the convenience of overseas Pakistanis were discussed in the meeting. The Prime Minister directed to formulate a comprehensive policy within a month to ensure maximum service delivery to about 09 million foreign Pakistanis who are valuable assets of the country.

He also directed to set up 08 overseas centers to provide one window facility for the provision of various services under one roof to the overseas Pakistanis. Separately, SAPM Azam Jameel called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on tourism coordination. During the meeting, matters related to promotion of tourism sector in the country were discussed in the meeting.

The Prime Minister directed to develop alternative tourist destinations in the country so that the influx of tourists can be diverted from the existing busy tourist destinations in the northern regions, especially during the winter season.

The Prime Minister underlined that Pakistan has been gifted with natural beauty and we need to improve tourism facility including development of infrastructure and housing.

He also directed to rehabilitate the Governor's House Nathiya Gali to develop it as a high-end tourist destination especially for the state's guests. The Prime Minister emphasized on involving the private sector to promote tourism in the country.
