Second spinoff series of 'The Suicide Squad' in the making: Director reveals

Suicide Squad director James Gunn confirmed that a second spinoff TV show based on the 2021 film is in the works.

According to Deadline, the 55-year-old filmmaker revealed that the upcoming show has been in the making since the premiere of Peacemaker starring John Cena.

Talking about his upcoming projects, Gunn shared, "We are working on something else now, another TV show that deals with that universe.'

The director of The Guardians of the Galaxy did not reveal further details about the show. "I absolutely can't say" he told the outlet about the series' plot and casting.

“I can’t say anything. It belongs to this universe, and I don’t think it will be the same genre as Peacemaker,” said the director.

"It won't be as comedy as Peacemaker, but it will be in the same universe," he said.

Meanwhile, he has expressed his being impressed by Cena's series, which premiered earlier this year.

Gun shared, "The show is doing exceptionally well, and we're excited, we all love doing it, we just need to cross some T's and dot some IS."
