Strengthening institutions top priority: Sarwar

 


Multan: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Thursday said that strengthening institutions is the top priority of the government.

Addressing a function on the occasion of inauguration of water filtration plant at Nishtar Medical Complex Telemedicine and Hepatitis wards, Governor said that political and religious parties and people from different walks of life should play their part for eradication of corruption.

He said that the local body elections would help in resolving the problems of the people at the ground level. The Governor said that the Sehat Insaf Cards are a gift from the PTI-led government to the poor people, adding that steps are being taken for the development and prosperity of South Punjab.

The water filtration plant was donated by social activist Khwaja Jalaluddin Rumi. Provincial Ministers Dr. Akhtar Malik, Hasnain Jahanian Gardeji and Vice Chancellor of Nishtar Medical University, Prof. Dr. Rana Muhammad Altaf and others were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the Governor also presented awards to the families of doctors who died of corona virus and doctors who have excelled in handling COVID-19 patients. The governor also promised to take steps to solve the problems of the university.

He also visited MNA Amir Dogar's house to mourn the death of his mother. Sarwar said that the PTI-led government has no personal and political agenda and all government institutions are working for the welfare of the people. He said that in order to provide health facilities, the government has issued health cards to the people.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has been talking about the rule of law and strengthening institutions from day one. He urged the leaders of political parties to completely handle the issues of tax evasion for the betterment of the country.

The Governor said that more than 1,200 projects of Punjab Water Supply Authority are being implemented across the province and these projects are being set up not only in the treasurers' areas but also in the constituencies of the members of the opposition parties.

He said that water supply authorities and NGOs would jointly provide clean drinking water to 15 crore people of Punjab. He said that special schemes are also being expedited for the provision of clean water for South Punjab.
