Johnny Depp is spilling the beans on the doctor actor's detox journey
Johnny Depp tries to get rid of his drug addiction during his marriage to Amber Heard.
In a Virginia court Thursday, Depp's doctor, David Kipper, confirmed his test with the drugs and his efforts to overcome them.
Depp, 58, was addicted to alcohol, opium, benzodiazepines and stimulants, according to Kipper. At her doctor's insistence, the depression-led star planned a two-week drug detoxification in the Caribbean islands.
"He didn't think he could do it. He changed after the conversation; he was back on board," Kipper said.
Depp text messages with the doctor were also shared in court. Later in the marriage, Depp was obsessively abusing the sleeping pills Xanax.
Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation and is seeking $50 million for a write-up where he confessed to being subjected to domestic violence in the Washington Post in 2018.
