Czech hockey star David Krzy tested positive for coronavirus upon arrival in Beijing and missed the team's first full-fledged pre-Olympic practice.
Coach Philippe Payson says Crazy is still in the athletes' village and awaits more COVID-19 test results. Payson expressed optimism about Craziness's approval on Friday after a similar situation surfaced with another player.
The 35-year-old longtime Boston Bruins center is expected to be one of the best players in the tournament without NHL players. Crazy won the Stanley Cup with Boston in 2011 and have 854 points in 1,118 regular season and playoff games.
The Krazy was almost a point-a-game player last season for the Bruins. He went on to go home and play in the Czech Extraliga so that friends and family could watch him closely before he retired.
"We're going to test him again tonight and test him again tomorrow morning, and I firmly believe he's going to be in practice tomorrow," Payson said.
