Sevilla winger, Papu Gomez has revealed how it felt to celebrate Argentina's Copa America win with Lionel Messi in 2021.
Argentina won the Copa America d 2021 after a 1–0 victory over Brazil in the final. Messi's first silverware with the national team came in this match. The Argentine maestro had come close to winning several international awards, but always fell behind at the last hurdle.
The loss to Germany in Brazil in the 2014 FIFA World Cup final was perhaps the most painful memory. Last year, however, Messi realized a long-standing ambition.
Papu Gomez commented on the moment of victory:

Messi had previously lost three Copa America finals in his career, despite scoring 158 caps and 80 goals for Argentina.
Last September, Messi told ESPN that he broke his madness by winning a trophy in the colors of Argentina:
"I take comfort in knowing that I have made a dream come true that I have been denied many times." It was like something out of a dream, a glorious moment. It happened, and I couldn't believe it. I love looking at images now more than I did when I was amazed. What was going on was beyond me."
Over the years, Messi and his Argentina team have been mocked in the media and ridiculed by fans for failing to win trophies. The Argentine captain added in response to the situation, "
"A section of the media portrayed us as failures, saying we didn't feel [the] responsibility of wearing the jersey and that we shouldn't be on the national team," says the player.

He signed by saying:
"We wanted to be champions first, and we tried to be champions first." Winning the World Cup or Copa America is a tough task. They did not give importance to what we did at that time; Instead, he focused on the fact that we failed to achieve our goal. The most important thing is to know that you gave it your all ... luckily, last time [last] was different."
This year, Messi and Argentina have a chance to win the FIFA World Cup.
Later this year, Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup 2022. Considering that the Argentine will turn 35 in June, this could be his last chance to win the coveted trophy.
Argentina has qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar in November and December.
