Peaky Blinders actor Tom Hardy once reflected back on his bad decisions when he regretted abusing his 'privilege' by resorting to drugs and crime.

The 44-year-old actor, who has been making everyone's heads turn with his insanely impressive performance in the acclaimed series as Alfie Solomons, had turned to rehab in 2003 to get help with his drug consumption.

He came out as sober at the age of 25.

During his conversation with the Mirror in 2017, the Mad Max actor opened up, "If I had four pints of lager and half a bottle of vodka I could turn this room into a complete (unless) nightmare in about three minutes.

"I can destroy everything in my life that I worked so hard for," he shared.

"It's suburbia, life is so privileged and peaceful and so bloody monotonous, it gives you an innate desire to end everything," he said.

Noting his 'self-harm' despite having a 'privileged' childhood, Hardy said, "I was arrested at the age of 15 for taking pleasure in a stolen Mercedes. And in the car for good measure. There was a gun," he revealed.

"I just had to put myself in danger — it was kind of self-harm," he said.
