Queen Elizabeth II has once again turned down her grandson Prince Harry as she handed over her title to Kate Middleton.
Royal fans and experts believe the Queen has clearly taught the Duke of Sussex a new lesson by awarding Harry's rugby patronage, hailing Kate for her steadfastness with the firm.
The 95-year-old has honored the Duchess of Cambridge by gifting her a role previously held by her grandson Harry.
The Duchess of Cambridge will be face-to-face with Prince William during Six Nations, with the Duke of Cambridge being a key figure in the Welsh Rugby Union Federation.
"We are truly honored to have appointed The Duchess of Cambridge as Royal Patron of the Rugby Football League," said Rugby Football League Chief Executive Ralph Rimmer.
“We are pleased to welcome them as we prepare to host the Men’s, Women’s, Wheelchair and Physical Disability Rugby League World Cup in England this autumn.
"We look forward to working with the Duchess in the years to come, and I know all levels of our sport will welcome her into the rugby league family."
“As rugby clubs reopen across the country, players, officials and volunteers are celebrating getting back to the sport together, and we know the Duchess’s support comes from our grassroots clubs and rapidly growing women. Will be valuable and the girls' game, to our elite men's and women's England teams."
Rugby Football Union chief executive Bill Sweeney said: "It is a great honor to welcome The Duchess of Cambridge as our patron."
Kate Middleton has fond memories of watching rugby matches with her family as a child. She has also visited the players to show that she will execute the newly assigned job efficiently.
