Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly urged her grandson Prince William, second in line to the British throne, to stop flying helicopters himself with his family.

The Daily Mail is quoted by The Sun as reporting that the monarch, 95, has asked the Duke of Cambridge to stop himself from flying the helicopter with Kate Middleton and their children because he is 'terrified' that disaster may strike.

The report said the Queen has had 'several talks' with Prince William, asking him to 'stop himself flying', especially in bad weather.

He fears that an accident might jeopardize the line of succession.

A source close to Queen Elizabeth said: "Her Majesty has told close friends and courtiers that she wants William to stop flying himself, especially in bad weather, as helicopters are not the safest mode of transport."

The Queen told William that she was concerned that, given how good she was as a pilot, bad weather and accidents could happen at any time, it added.
