Lawyers asked Depp about the text he told Amber Heard to take 'no meetings' and 'no movies'.
According to Amber Heard's attorney, Johnny Depp praised his ex-wife for having "the strength of a thousand men" in a text she wrote to her mother.
Johnny Depp, who took the stand against Heard on the fourth day in the defamation lawsuit, was also asked about the text in which he told Amber Heard to take 'no meetings' and 'no movies'.
Amber Heard's attorney, Ben Rottenborn, said Depp was going to detox for his addiction to painkillers when he talked to his ex-wife's mother.
On August 19, 2014, Depp wrote: "My dear Paige, your message was so incredibly kind and pure. I am grateful to have you in my life. There is no lucky person on this earth who has the strength that Amber has given me more. The full support from each of you personally that I have received helps a lot."
"I don't have to explain the horrors to you," he continued in the message. "You and I know too. What you need to know - that your daughter has risen far above the nightmare of taking care of this poor, old addict.
"Not a moment has passed that he didn't look for me or look at me to make sure I was okay. Words are really weak in an attempt to explain his heroism in a text. Suffice it to say that I have never met, or loved, any woman or thing more than."
Heard's legal team revealed in court that Depp wrote: "He has the strength of a thousand men and it's not because of anyone else but you, sweetheart. Thank you. I love you. Your son-in-law."
