NTDC head office to be shifted to Islamabad

 


Lahore: Headquarters of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) will be shifted from Lahore to Islamabad in phases.

As per the decision taken by the public sector power transmission utility, the liaison office of the Managing Director of NTDC will be shifted to Islamabad by April 30, 2022. In the second phase, 121 employees with offices of Deputy Managing Director, Asset Development and Management and the offices of General Manager (Asset Management), North, General Manager (Project Development), North and General Manager (Technical) with Deputy Managing Director, Planning and Engineering Offices with the strength of the U.S. will be relocated to the federal capital by June 30. 2022.

The decision to this effect has been informed to the Ministry of Power (Power Division) through a letter dated January 21, 2022. According to the letter, the transfer of NTDC Head Office is being done on the recommendation of the Senate Standing Committee. on power. However, the NTDC management appears to be indecisive about shifting the workforce in a big way. It is informed that the third phase of transfer will be shared in due course as it involves huge financial and social implications in the form of acquisition of land/building, setting up of offices and transfer of employees. According to official documents, about 945 employees are to be shifted in the third and final phase.
