"At the invitation of the Canadian Government and to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Her Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Canada from 17 to 19 May 2022.
The Prince of Wales's first official visit to Canada was in 1970, and the visit will be the 19th time that His Royal Highness has visited the country, having visited all ten provinces and three territories in the past. This will be the Duchess of Cornwall's fifth official visit; His Royal Highness's first tour of Canada took place a decade ago in November 2009.
On the May tour, Her Royal Highness will travel more than 2000 miles from Newfoundland and Labrador, the eastern most province in the world's second largest country, to the Northwest Territories in northern Canada. Her Royal Highness will also visit the Canadian Capital Territory which will include a special reception to mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.
The Prince of Wales has long believed that we need to learn from indigenous peoples around the world about how we should care for and live better for nature and the planet. Canada is looking at the impact of climate change and so the tour will focus on working with businesses to find a more sustainable way of living with global warming, with an emphasis on learning from Indigenous peoples in Canada.
