Prince Harry, Meghan Markle promised police protection by Dutch in Netherlands

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle are traveling to Holland for the Invictus Games this week

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ensured armed security ahead of the Invictus Games.

According to media in Holland, the Hague event has been branded high-profile and will be guarded by the DKDB Royal and the Diplomatic Security Service of the national police.

While the Dutch authorities will not have Harry pay for their security in the country, they have ensured the Duke and Duchess of Sussex full security.

The couple, who have not been invited by the Dutch king to visit his palace, will, however, meet him at the closing ceremony of the event. King Willem-Alexander's aunt, Princess Margaret, is the Honorary President of the Games.

Prince Harry has infamously decided not to return to the UK for his grandfather Prince Philip's tribute over 'security' concerns. The Duke had a protracted battle with the British Home Office to pay for his security while he was in the country.

Harry, 37, has claimed it is not safe for him or Meghan, 40, to return to Britain with their children, Archie, two, and Lilibet, 10, because their US security is not armed with UK intelligence.

Dai Davis, a former head of royal security at Scotland Yard, said the idea that Britain was unsafe for Harry to visit was "disappointing nonsense".

"Most of them no longer have full-time security or even half-time security, so the truth is the UK is far safer than other places," he demanded of Harry along with the other royals compared.

"And with great respect, Harry is not an expert in security," he said.
