Prince Harry, Meghan Markle warned against losing their charm
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be in news for their association with the royal family.
Pauline McLaren, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, says: "I think they really need to step up their association with royalty.
"Because without their royal connections they are really the nobles in America, where they are trying to establish themselves.
“I think their unique selling point, to put it in marketing speak, is that they have a human purpose and of course, they are high profile.
"But the high profile is really because of his title and his association with British royalty.
"They're developing a sort of rival brand, or Court, or however you like to describe it.
"But I think the longer they stay away they will lose that royal magic."
She said: "Harry and Meghan really need to have and maintain these royal connections.
"The royals also need the variety that the two of them bring, especially Megan, it was so sad they lost it."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle both gave advice after they decided to pull out of Prince Philip's memorial service over security concerns.
