Prince William's Earthshot Award Nominated for Best Live TV Program


Prince William and Kate Middleton have appointed former BAFTA executive Amanda Berry as the new CEO of The Royal Foundation.

In his previous role, Berry served as chief executive of the arts charity for 23 years and led the successful revamping of its annual film awards.

Prince William has been president of BAFTA since 2010 and has worked with Berry on several occasions. Yesterday, their inaugural Earthshot Award was nominated for Virgin Media BAFTA's Best Live TV Event award.


William launched the multi-million-pound prize in 2019 to encourage the world's biggest problem-solvers to find answers to Earth's biggest environmental problems, saying the planet was now at a turning point.

The Earthshot Prize, which has been described in its promotion as "the most prestigious environmental award in history", is awarded five winners a year over the next decade with the aim of creating at least 50 solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. will be honored.
