Simon Cowell recently recalled his time on 'The X Factor'
Simon Cowell recently revealed that the judges of The X Factor were paid huge amounts as their salaries.
During his conversation with The Sun, the 62-year-old English TV personality, who starred on the show between 2004 and 2018, talked about the mistakes he made during the Saturday night slot.
“The salary is worthless. I would be a hypocrite if I say I haven't made a lot of money," he admitted while sharing that the stars, on the other hand, were paid a 'small fortune'.
"But it got pretty crazy. And, going back to The X Factor, I'm not even sure that the cast should be judging the other cast members. I think it's in their DNA to want to find a star. are,” he said.
Cowell also expressed a desire for things to roll out differently when the show returns. “It is a difficult one but there are hundreds of people who still want to be pop stars. We have to go back to basics,” said the entrepreneur.
“The other thing we did with the show was to tinker with it, add new formats.
“When we first started the show it was very simple with unique elements. I would argue that you can't make a better music show than this," Cowell continued.
“I have an expression though – if you're going to go to a party, take the invitation. You want to feel like people are excited at the idea of The X Factor returning,” concluded the TV personality.
