Stranger Things actor Carrie Elwes was recently treated at a hospital after being bitten by a rattlesnake, Sky News reports.

The actor, who played Westley in the 1987 hit The Princess Bride, took to social media to share a photo of his finger, swollen black and blue, and thank the emergency services for helping him.

Alves shared: "Not by a ROUS but by a rattlesnake. Grateful to Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Department employees and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center staff and medical professionals for their great care."

The actor added: "Thanks to all these wonderful people I am recovering well."

Elves' Stranger Things co-star Randy Havens responded to her social media post, saying: "Oh my gosh Carrie! Please feel better! Sending healing thoughts your way."

According to reports, the 59-year-old Elves, who was seen in Saw and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, was bitten by a snake while working in his yard.
