Prince Charles' reputation 'really blown away' by money scandal, says Meghan Pal

Meghan Markle author Omid Scobie says Prince Charles has failed to establish his trust with the people of Britain as the future king.

The Prince of Wales, who has come under criticism for accepting a €3 million bag for former Qatari PM and billionaire Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, has 'blown away' his positive image.

Writing on Yahoo, Scobie appreciated how the future monarch made a bold comment on the UK's policy of Rwandan immigrants, where he described the government's decision to deport all illegal Rwandan immigrants as 'horrendous'.

Scobie highlighted how the prince "did not shy away from uneasy conversations about Britain's imperial past and its historical role in the slave trade".

Mr Scobie was quoted as saying by a Royal source: "He believes there is a fundamental gap in national awareness, despite the UK's direct involvement in the trade."

He continued: "While there is an argument that the prince needs to temper his political views as a future king, I have always found it commendable that, despite the constraints of his role, he is not afraid to address those issues." There are others who believe in everything from political-environmental and Islamophobia to youth unemployment.

However, while Charles "seems authentic", he has "well and truly blown away" his reputation on the money of the Qatari elite.
