Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally achieved their 'goal' of becoming financially independent, two years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex promised to work to support themselves.
The Sussexes are no longer receiving funding from the Prince of Wales, as Sovereign Grant reports, while the rest of the royal family continues to spend largely.
A source close to Prince Charles told The Mirror: "The Duke and Duchess are to be congratulated on achieving their goal" with millions in the private sector raking in.
Meanwhile, Sir Michael Stevens, the Monarch's keeper of the Privy Purse, shared yesterday that around £102.4 million was spent last year, an increase of 17 per cent over the previous year.
Much of the expenditure was spent on a major ten-year program of the ongoing renovation of Buckingham Palace.
It was reported that around £54.6 million – a 41 per cent increase in expenses, had been snuffed out by the renovation alone.
