Royal family hails Prince Harry, Meghan jubilee as 'charming'

As Express UK reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were notably ignored by the royal family at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and a royal expert believes the firm has effectively 'royal protocol' thrown out the window'.

Harry and Meghan, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and relocated to the US, returned to the UK with their children, Archie and Lillibet, for the Queen's birth anniversary, albeit by other senior royals including Prince William, Kate' Royally snubbed. Middleton, and Prince Charles.

Speaking about the same at Palace Confidential, royal expert Richard Eden said: "Everyone is curious about the seating plan at St. Paul's Cathedral."

He added: "It was really fascinating because even though the Royal Family was very keen to make sure Harry and Meghan were mentioned in the court circular, this is the first time in a few years."

Eden further remarked, "She was mentioned directly after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, so she kept with the order of precedence, well in service that went out the window."

He continued: "What we saw at the service was Meghan and Harry were moved to the second line. So even though he is [William's] brother, he had to sit behind the Queen's cousins, far below the line of precedence come."

Eden said both Prince Harry and Meghan were 'tucked up'.

It is worth noting that Harry and Meghan left the UK before the jubilee ceremony was over, with many royal experts suggesting this could be due to their 'second in line' position at the Thanksgiving service.
