Meghan Markle raises voice for working American mom with new venture

Meghan Markle She understands the burden of work-life balance

Meghan Markle is trying to speak up for working moms.

On Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex announced the 'National Business Coalition for Child Care' in collaboration with the Archwell Foundation, along with the Marshall Plan for Mothers.

The new venture aims to support working mothers by creating new policies to support America's economy.

Reshma Saujani, Founder of Marshall Plan for Mothers and Girls, said: "Our report shows that you can attract, retain and advance women into the workforce only through the provision of offering child care benefits."

The Duchess said in a statement: "Families everywhere, and especially working mothers, are asked to do a lot.

“This has only been exacerbated by the pandemic, with increased care responsibilities, rising prices and economic uncertainty.

"As it has been said many times, it takes a village to raise a child."

She continued: "Today, we are sending a message that childcare is not just a community imperative – it is a business imperative.

"Building a strong workforce starts with meeting the needs of families."

Meghan's initiative came as the Duchess shared the tremendous experience of adjusting to marriage with Prince Harry and welcoming firstborn Archie.
