A jury on Wednesday ruled in favor of Johnny Depp in his defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, but when it happened, the actor was not there.

A close aide of the 58-year-old Oscar nominee told Us Weekly that the Pirates of the Caribbean star couldn't make it past the trial due to his work commitments.

“Due to previously scheduled work commitments made prior to the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today's 3 pm. The decision will be further seen from the United Kingdom.”

Meanwhile, the 58-year-old made an emotional statement minutes after the verdict was pronounced in the defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

"The jury gave me my life back," Johnny wrote, adding that he would later. Truth never perishes."

The Kentucky native has been in the UK for at least several days, attending his friend Jeff Beck's concert on Sunday, May 29, and making guest appearances on stage.

Depp also joined the 77-year-old guitarist during shows in London on Monday, 30 May and Tuesday, 31 May. The latter was attended by the actor's ex-girlfriend, Kate Moss, who testified last week about their romance.
