Zachary Levy speaks on the mental health struggle and life-saving treatment

Zachary Levy recently opened up on his lifelong battle with mental health issues in an interview.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shazam! The star spoke Thursday on the Heart of the Matter podcast about her struggles with anxiety and depression in her acting career, mainly due to "childhood trauma" and "self-doubt."
"I didn't know I was struggling with these things until I was 37, about five years ago and I was completely mentally broken," he revealed.
The actor recalled that he moved to Austin, Texas after a mental breakdown.
"I'm sitting in my truck, I was holding the wheel and I was rocking back and forth. I'm just crying. I'm just crying. I'm like, 'God, help me,'" to the 41-year-old remembered.
Zachary continued, "I've been in dark places before in my life, but I feel like there were people around me in those moments."
However, after moving to another city, he mentioned that he did not have "a support structure".
"The lies are whispering in my ear and the failure that I thought was enough to make me be like, 'Zach, don't look like you're going to get this out of it,'" he shared about his suicidal thoughts.
It was then that the actor spent nearly a month in a psych ward seeking "intensive life-changing, life-saving therapy".
Zachary also mentioned that prior to this treatment, the Tangled actor was on drugs and drinking alcohol to "numb himself with pain".
Meanwhile, the actor explained that prayer and meditation along with "a healthy routine, good diet and exercise" is now the best way to manage these issues.
