'The Crown' plots Queen's death, 'we have our own operation London Bridge'


Netflix is ??all set to mark the beginning of the end for one of its most acclaimed series, The Crown.

In a matter of weeks, the production of the sixth and final season of the royal show is about to begin and the makers have revealed their biggest plans.

While the show's fifth season is due out later this year, the makers of the multi-million-pound series have shared "plans" to go ahead with the show in the wake of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Showmakers have their own 'Operation London Bridge', known by its code phrase London Bridge is Down, a plan for what will happen in Britain shortly after the death of the Queen.

The plan also includes the announcement of his death, the period of official mourning, and details of his state funeral.

"We have our own version of Operation London Bridge," a chain insider told The New York Post. "It's especially relevant if we're filming.

Season five of Crown is scheduled to release in November this year. Imelda Staunton and Leslie Manville will play Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret, respectively, while Jonathan Price will play Prince Philip.

Next season is expected to explore the strained relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana (now portrayed by Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West, respectively).
