Court's decision Ateeq-ur-Rehman is Meera's husband, actress rejected

 

Lahore: Meera is legally the wife of Ateeq-ur-Rehman, a sessions court announced.

Further, the court had dismissed the showbiz star's appeal to deny the verdict of their marriage.

Additional Sessions Judge Mazhar Abbas had declared that the nikahnama [marriage contract] is authentic and hence the star is still legally married to Atiq.

However, the actress, whose real name is Irtiza Rubab, said that Atiq drafted a fake marriage contract and that they were never legally married.

She said, "I am not Ateeq-ur-Rehman's wife. She entered into a fake marriage contract."

It is pertinent to mention that Ateeq accused Meera of entering into another marriage contract with Captain Naveed in 2013, while he was still married to her.
