Former England footballer Michael Owen arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday to promote international football in the country.
During his visit, Michael Owen will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and brief him on the roadmap for the development of football in Pakistan. He will also meet with the Special Assistant to Prime Minister Usman Dar to outline the GSV's football transformation program for Pakistan.
England's legendary football player will attend the dinner hosted by President Dr Arif Alvi and a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa is also expected.
In Karachi, on January 26, Michael Owen will attend a press conference at NED University to officially host an important ceremony and release images to the world of Pakistan's first soccer city.
The former Liverpool international tour is expected to breathe a new life into football in the country.
Earlier on his arrival at Islamabad International Airport, Owen was received by Pakistani authorities,
Ahead of his visit, Owen said, "I am really excited to be at the helm of Pakistan's biggest football transformation program and am relieved of the responsibility of taking football in Pakistan to a new level."
