Fawad Hasan Fawad's plea to seal Pindi Plaza dismissed

 


Lahore: An accountability court on Thursday rejected an application by Fawad Hasan Fawad to seal his Rawalpindi Plaza.

Earlier, the court had reserved the verdict in this case. As per the details, it is alleged that Fawad had acquired illegal assets worth Rs 50 million including a five kanal commercial plot in the Sadar area of ​​Rawalpindi. The reference to NAB Lahore alleged that Fawad was also a shareholder

In a 15-storey commercial plaza located in the same area, which is worth Rs 3.085 billion.

Fawad, former principal secretary to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, is also facing the NAB reference in the Rs 14 billion Ashiana-e-Iqbal housing scam. He is a co-accused in the case along with former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

According to NAB, Fawad, who was working as the Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab in the Ashiana Housing Project, had abused his authority. The former bureaucrat was arrested in July 2018 after he disclosed assets worth billions of rupees. A few days later, NAB raided his residence in GOR-I and seized important documents and electronic equipment. In December 2018, the NAB had filed supplementary cases against Fawad and Shahbaz, among others. Later, Fawad got bail from the Lahore High Court.
