PN ship sets up free medical camp in Kenya

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy ship Alamgir visited Mombasa in Kenya as part of overseas deployment in Africa, a Pakistan Navy spokesperson said on Friday.

PNS ALAMGIR was received by the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Defense Attache of Pakistan and senior officers of the Kenyan Navy. As a goodwill gesture and to provide humanitarian aid, a free medical camp was set up by the Pakistani Navy in Mombasa to provide medical facilities and medicines to over 5400 Kenyan patients. Kovid-19 SOP was ensured during the medical camp.

The Mission Commander along with the Commanding Officer of PNS Alamgir also met Cabinet Secretary Defense and Deputy Commander of the Kenyan Navy and discussed matters of mutual interest. The Mission Commander extended best wishes to the people of Kenya on behalf of Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.

During the deployment of PNS ALAMGIR to the African continent since November 2021, treatments and medicines have been provided to more than 15000 patients in five countries. It is a manifestation of Pakistan's 'Connect Africa' policy to explore new avenues of cooperation, strengthen bilateral ties and develop interoperability with African countries.
