 Birmingham: A record number of English cricketers will star in the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022.

This year's edition of the PSL will see 23 players from England in action, including some big names who have made consistent performances not only in international T20 competitions but also in the domestic "T20 Blast" and the inaugural edition. The tournament, now considered as one of the biggest T20 cricket festivities, is scheduled to last for a month. But not all English players will come for the entire tournament as some are replacing fellow countrymen who are unavailable to make it to the first few matches of the tournament due to England's T20I series against the West Indies.

Quetta Gladiators have signed the most English players, six in total, while Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi have five English players in their squads. For Lahore Qalandars, four English cricketers, Islamabad United picked two and Multan Sultans have signed just one Englishman in their teams for this year's tournament.

Roy, who is renowned for his flamboyant style of batting at the top of the order, also featured for Quetta Gladiators in the 2018 and 2020 tournaments, while he was also a part of Lahore Qalandars in the 2017 edition.
