ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates prosecutor has summoned several people who shared footage of Houthi rocket attacks on Abu Dhabi on social media, the UAE's official news agency WAM reported on Wednesday.
The Public Prosecution warned that such things endanger important military installations and affect the security and stability of society. No photographs or videos of the incidents were released by the authorities, so citizens and residents were asked not to broadcast such sensitive clips. Attorney General Dr Hamad Al Shamsi urged the public not to broadcast sensitive footage that is a matter of state security.
"The Public Prosecution will play its part in the enforcement of the law firmly against these crimes and their perpetrators," he said in a statement. The Public Prosecutor also cautioned about the effects and dangers of rumors and the negative consequences they may cause to the state, which may be a threat to the society and may unnecessarily create panic and fear among individuals.
