Prince Charles' rule would make monarchy 'insignificant': report

Prince Charles will be less popular than the Queen, according to royal expert predictions.

Commentator Robert Jobson spoke to GB News host Dan Wooten on Wednesday, praising Queen Elizabeth II ahead of her platinum jubilee.

He said: "I don't think we'll have anyone as tall as him on the throne.

“She has overseen wonderful times – the transition from an Edwardian institution and the post-Empire era when she came to the throne when the British Empire was just starting to disintegrate after the Second World War.

“She has managed to rebuild the Commonwealth with her leadership and her leadership in the Commonwealth with countries around the world who have been even a handful.”

Jobson admitted that he believed the monarchy would become "less important" only after Charles became king.

He said: “I think we are going to see a change with the Prince of Wales passing through as the King and Camilla as Queen Consort.

“I think there would be a smaller, low-key monarchy, but in terms of that – she came to the throne only in her mid-20s.
