Chelsea assistant coach Zault Low has revealed the importance of the Blues winning the Club World Cup ahead of their semi-final against Al Hilal on Wednesday.
Chelsea will face Palmeiras in the final on Saturday after a win.
Speaking to the press via football.london, Low acknowledged that winning competition is important for the Blues.
He added: "It's for everyone. We're here to win trophies. It's important."
The Hungarian coach continued to highlight the importance of the competition to one player in particular before considering a possible final against Palmeiras.
"Thiago Silva especially knows how important this is," he continued.
"We've seen photos and videos of how Palmeiras traveled to try and excite their team before they started. We know full well how important it is to win this tournament."
Palmeiras emerged victorious 2-0 over Al Ahly on Saturday to set up a final clash against either Chelsea or Al Hilal.
The Blues will be eager to make the finals and lift the trophy, having missed out on another Brazilian side, the Corinthians, back in 2012.
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is also determined to win the trophy as the only player from the team that lost 2012.
"We lost in 2012 and maybe Europe has a different perception about tournaments sometimes, but we are up against champions from other continents. We have a big motivation. Hopefully we can win it." " They said.
