Amrita Rao says she felt getting married would adversely affect her acting career
Amrita Rao has revealed that she actually married husband RJ Anmol in a secret ceremony fearing that it might affect her career.
In the latest episode of the couple's YouTube show Couple of Things, Amrita and Anmol revealed that they got married secretly in 2014, however, announced it in 2016.
The couple explained in the video that even though Anmol proposed him several times, Amrita used to turn him down every time.
The Jolly LLB actor shared, "I said if we get married now, this news may hinder my career because of the industry we work in."
The Bollywood diva said, “Today, there is social media to put forth your views, but then it was not so common. It was very easy for people to spread rumors that she is married now, there will be no fan following, like this of all things."
The actor said, "So, thinking this, I didn't want to take the step of getting married."
Anmol then suggested that they get married in secret and Amrita liked the idea and they tied the knot on May 15, 2014 with only close family members.
