Royal biographer claims Duchess of Sussex never intended to stay in royal family
A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle, who met the Queen last week with her husband Prince Harry, "had no intention of staying" in the Royal Family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stopped in Windsor and met the 95-year-old monarch and future King Prince Charles. It was the first time they were together on British soil since stepping down from their roles as members of the royal family two years ago.
The writer told Express UK that Meghan liked the "idea of being a princess" like Harry's late mother Princess Diana, but the former Hollywood star knew the role wouldn't be for her.
He continued: "I bet Diana really didn't understand that being a princess is a terrible thing: you can't go to the toilet without someone standing outside the door, you do the same thing every day. Your Same dates every year for the rest of your life and you have to be polite to everyone at all times."
"So I guess she found out pretty quickly that it wasn't Cinderella.
"But I think Meghan knew that the whole time and had no intention of staying there."
Prince Harry and Meghan - who live in Montecito, California with their two children Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana - visited the Queen amid speculation of a rift between them and the rest of the royal family.
