Simon Cowell Says '65 Is The New 40' As He Confirms He's On 'Britain's Got Talent' Until His Contract Expires In 2025

Simon Cowell confirms he is on 'Britain's Got Talent' until his contract expires in 2025.

In a conversation with The Mirror, the music mogul said that he will be treating his fans till he turns 65 with his presence in the talent show.

"I just say 65 is the new 40. When I was 40, I thought, 'God, what am I going to do when I turn 60?' And I have to be honest with you, I feel like I did then," he told the outlet.

"Thank God, we can all look and feel a little better. It's all about the energy," said the 62-year-old television personality.

Cowell was involved in an electric bike accident after which he was bedridden for almost 6 months but now it seems he is back on track.

"I've seen people in their 50s look tired, terrible. Not found. And conversely, I've seen people in their 80s who still got it mentally, who looked good. , feel good and run a marathon," Cowell explained.

As the show returns to television screens after a year, Cowell was asked if he had 'ever considered quitting altogether and pulling the plug on BGT.'

Cowell replied, "Oh my god yeah. Anytime I feel like no one else is going to turn up or that all shows are going to be bad. Of course, I will."

He went on to add how the one-year hiatus due to the pandemic made him and the show energized, saying, "I think the hiatus definitely made a difference because it felt a little routine."

"We all appreciate a lot more of everything now," he concluded.
