Whoopi Goldberg Knows People Will Forget the Oscars Controversy

Whoopi Goldberg announced that the Oscar controversy won't affect Will Smith's image in the long run.
Speaking on his show The View, Goldberg gave two cents about the Grammy honoring Kanye West and compared the ode to the much-controversial Oscar slap.
"Some people found it controversial, but the show was nothing like last week's controversy, which is fine," Goldberg said. "Also some of Will Smith's future projects are under question. The question is, does he have a way to go back? Yes, of course he does. ... He'll be fine, he'll be back." No worries."
West, who previously made headlines for cyberbullying ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Pete Davidson, received two awards at this year's Grammys for the album Donda.
The 66-year-old had previously admitted that the Oscar owners had made the right decision not to remove Smith from the show.
"It's not the first time that madness has happened on stage, but it's the first time we've seen someone attack someone on stage," she said last week.
The remarks come after Will hit the wife of comedian Chris Rock in the face for poke fun at Jada Pinkett Smith's medical condition, alopecia.
"Keep my wife's name out of your f-----g mouth!" he said.
However, on Monday evening, Smith apologized for his act.
Smith wrote, "Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. My behavior at last night's Academy Awards was unacceptable and unforgivable." "Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally."
"I want to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I'm ashamed and my actions weren't indicative of the man I want to be," he continued, who won his first Oscar Tha victor directly apologized to the man he had killed. "There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
