A psychiatrist testifies that Johnny Depp shows autism symptoms
Johnny Depp's narcissistic qualities were brought to light in court on Monday amid a bombshell defamation lawsuit.
During his testimony, Dr. David Spiegel said that Depp displays five of the nine narcissistic personality traits, including "poor control, rapid mood changes, an inappropriate sense of admiration and vengeful power".
Dr. Spiegel also pointed out that Hollywood A-listers showed a need for praise from others, displayed moments of entitlement, and a lack of empathy.
"The fact that he thought Amber owed him and only wanted to be with him because of his fame is an example of this," Spiegel said of the narcissistic traits. "I think jealousy is an example of that."
However, Depp's lawyer asked the psychiatrist if he had personally examined the actor to make such a diagnosis.
To this, Dr. Spiegel replied, "I certainly would, if I didn't, I would certainly be thinking so, but at least I'm going to say that he has traits. So this narcissistic personality." There is a provisional diagnosis of the disorder."
