Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are fighting a defamation case in court
Experts say that Johnny Depp's victory against Amber Heard is quite difficult.
Speaking to The Post, Legal believes the actor's ongoing court proceedings are an uphill battle due to Depp's star status.
"The First Amendment protects our rights to discuss matters of public concern—which arguably, in today's day and age, include the lives of celebrities," explained Mitra Ahorian, a California entertainment attorney.
Experts said that defamation cases are generally difficult to win, especially if they involve celebrities. It is difficult to prove "genuine malice" on the part of the respondent.
"They have this extra burden which is not easy," Ahorian said.
Meanwhile, after an emotionally exhausting court battle with Heard, Depp is taking time off in Europe.
"Johnny is taking some time out in Europe to relax for a few days, hanging out with old friends, playing music and taking long walks in the countryside," the source said.
