Prince William recently gave a touching speech about the loss as he remembered his mother Diana

Prince William and wife Kate Middleton attended the opening of the Manchester Arena bombing memorial on Tuesday, where the Duke gave a touching speech about the loss in which he also remembered his late mother, Diana.

According to Entertainment Tonight, William got emotional while talking about the importance of remembering his loved ones who passed away.

In his speech, Prince William paid tribute to those lost in the inhumane bombing at the 2017 Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena.

He added: "To Katherine and I, it is very important that we are here with you today. To remember the 22 lives taken so ruthlessly."

William continued, "...when I went to Manchester in the days following the torture, I remember very well the shock and sadness on the faces of those who met him." ,

He then referred to the loss of his mother Diana at a young age, saying: "As someone who lives with her grief, I also know that what matters most to the bereaved is that that those we have lost are not forgotten."

"There is comfort in remembering. Recognizing that he was soon taken badly, he lived. He changed our lives. He was loved, and he was loved. That's why Monuments like the Glade of Light are so important," said William.

The Duke of Cambridge, 39, lost his mother Diana in a horrific car accident in 1997 at the age of just 15.
