Channing Tatum discusses the children's book that helped him overcome the fears of single parents

Channing Tatum recently revealed that he was "afraid to be a father" when he became a single parent to a young daughter.

According to Insider, Dear John Starr spoke to his ex-wife Jenna Dewan about his fatherhood journey and his only nine-year-old daughter, Everly Tatum.

The Vove actor wanted to have a friendly relationship with his daughter and be there for her whenever she needed it.

The Lost City star also spoke about her first children's book, The One and Only Sparkella, in which she shares her experiences as a single parent and raising a single child.

“I didn’t know what to do with a little strong little girl. I grew very, very, very different from her. So, I was nervous,” he admitted.

Channing continued, "I think writing these books is my way of trying to be specific about what I've learned because being a kid is messy. And learning to be a parent is probably a bit like being a kid." More messed up than that."

The Step Up actor added, "I'm not afraid to connect with my baby anymore and they are best of friends."
