Prince William's long-standing rift with brother Prince Harry has gotten worse over the past year, according to royal expert Daniela Elser, reports The Daily Star.
While the Duke of Sussex visited the UK last week for the Queen's platinum jubilee, it was reported that he did not get a chance to meet with older brother William or mend his rift. The two were not even seen together during the long weekend.
Commenting on the same, Elser told The Daily Star: "It's been almost a year since we last saw William and Harry together, and the situation has only gotten worse in that time."
He said: "Five meters. By my best guess the closest Prince William and Prince Harry came to each other during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee ceremony last week was about five metres.
“With their expressions completely neutral, the Royal Party passed the second line, completely ignoring Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who returned the frosty favor. Neither nodded. There was no head bowed and not a single clear sign of acceptance."
Elser continued: "Now one thing has become clear - the rift between the brothers has entered a rotten new phase. What has clearly come to mind is that this is not a temporary chill that needs some reconciliation. Words and a hard embrace can heal. This is a state of deep permafrost with no end in sight."
