Leah Remini criticizes 'Top Gun: Maverick' and Tom Cruise in a tweet about her connection to Scientology
Tom Cruise's latest released action sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, dominated the domestic box office.
While the film, which is the sequel to the 1986 classic Top Gun, made $100 million in its opening weekend and received massive praise from audiences, there has been a backlash from actress Leah Remini.
The 51-year-old King of Queens star criticized Top Gun: Maverick and Cruise in a Twitter post over his ties to the Church of Scientology.
Remini, a former Scientologist, has warned fans that Cruz, 59, is still an active member of the church.
Thank you to my friend @claireheadley for your courage.

You have continued to speak out despite the non-stop attacks from Scientology.
And as Claire says in her post below, Tom Cruise knows exactly what goes on in Scientology.

On Saturday, Remini shared a screenshot of a Facebook post by her friend, former Scientologist Claire Headley, on Twitter, accusing Cruz of promoting "a dangerous cult that destroyed my family."
"Thank you my friend @ClaireHeadley for your courage. You continue to speak up despite Scientology's incessant attacks,” Remini tweeted.
"And as Claire says in her post below, Tom Cruise knows what's going on at Scientology. Don't let the movie star charm fool you," she posted.
Headley referred to the Mission Impossible star as promoting "a dangerous cult that destroyed my family, the same cult that almost ruined my marriage and my life."
"So no, I will not watch the film, nor will I endorse or endorse this scam by any individual," Hadley wrote.
