Professor Selye Otness spoke to Express.co.uk about how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who left the royal family in 2020 to pursue a private life, are still living by the standards across the pond.
She asked: "Why do you need to live like Hollywood royalty when you're not Hollywood royalty?"
She continued: "You are royalty but you have relinquished royalty, so what are you as a brand?"
Ms Seeley notes that Harry and Meghan will find more support if they "remove themselves" from the "elite" lifestyle.
She added: "They're not ready to let go of this elite life trap, but honestly, if you ask me, this would be the way to brand themselves."
"Not only geographically, they have to distance themselves according to lifestyle."
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess are living in an £11 million mansion complete with a private tennis court, playground and spa.
