Prince William, Charles Block From Attending Prince Andrew's Garter Service

A Buckingham Palace spokesman confirmed that Prince Andrew will not appear in public at the Garter Day service in Windsor today.

According to Mirror UK, a Palace spokesperson revealed that while Prince Andrew will attend a private lunch and ceremonial ceremony for the new members of the Order of the Garter, he will not participate in the royal procession.

The spokesman was quoted as saying: "The Duke of York will participate in the adornment and lunch today but will not be part of the procession or service."

The outlet also reported that it appears the decision to block Prince Andrew from the ceremony was a 'family decision'; The Duke of York lost his military title and HRH status earlier this year after being accused of sexual assault and involvement in a civil sex case trial.

It is pertinent to mention that the Queen herself will not be a part of the procession due to her increased mobility and health issues.

It is also being reported that Andrew's public return as royal was lobbied by Prince Charles and heir to the throne, Prince William, who convinced the Queen not to allow Andrew to take part in the procession.

Both William and Charles are said to have feared serious public backlash over their involvement in Andrew's royal engagements; She was last seen at a royal event in March at the memorial service for her late father, Prince Philip.
