Piers Morgan pays heartfelt tribute to 'Fantastic Woman' Maria Petrich

British TV presenter Piers Morgan on Friday paid a heartfelt tribute to a "fantastic woman" Maria Petrie following her tragic death.

The former Good Morning Britain star joined hundreds of Arsenal fans in paying tribute to the club's "legendary" supporter, who died at the age of 82.

On her Instagram Stories, Morgan shared a heart-melting snap of Maria wearing a head-to-toe red dress and beaming for the camera holding an Arsenal scarf, which she captioned: "RIP Maria Petri, of Arsenal Biggest fan ever."

The outspoken host added: "Never missed a game and we always listened to her chants. Brilliant lady. #ComeOnYouGunners (red heart emoji)."

Piers Morgan was not the only one who fondly remembered Maria. Alex Scott, who once played for Arsenal's women's team, also shared his grief over the tragic demise of Maria.

Sharing a photo of the two women smiling together at one of the club's games, Alex wrote: "Arsenal through and through...Thank you for the love, passion, songs and support for us from the start . We will never forget Maria, we love you."

Maria often referred to the club as her "family". Speaking to DAZN earlier this year, she said: "I am now an 82-year-old orphan. Because I have no nuclear family, I look to Arsenal as my family." She also said: "I will be so upset when I die, I won't be able to see Arsenal anymore."
