The Queen's peculiar food choices are no secret to fans of the Emperor.
However, tradition even dictates which shapes are not preferred when it comes to food prep.
According to former royal chef Graham Newbold, the royal family never ate sandwiches or any other food item that was presented in the shape of a square.
Speaking in the documentary Secrets of the Royal Kitchen, the former royal chef explained that this quirky tradition is followed because it is believed to serve "spiky" food to anyone who wants to overthrow the emperor.
“Royals never have square sandwiches because tradition has it that someone serves them with edgy food who is trying to overthrow the throne of England,” he said.
Historically, Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert had a similar habit where he avoided coffin-shaped food because he believed it would be unlucky for him.
