Katherine Hayes Played Kim Sullivan Hughes in 'As the World Turns' for 38 Years
Renowned television actress Katherine Hays, who played the iconic role of Kim Sullivan Hughes in As the World Turns, has died. She was 88 years old.
According to TVLine, the actress, who also played a role in the hit series Star Trek, passed away on March 25 in Fairfield, Connecticut.
A cause of death has not yet been released.
Hayes, who played the iconic role of Kim on ATWT for 38 years, was remembered by her onscreen husband Don Hastings, who played Bob Hughes in the soap opera.
He paid an emotional tribute to his longtime scene partner in a statement. "Our relationship as Bob and Kim was as close as Katherine and I were, except we weren't married," Hastings, 88, said.
"We were like brother and sister and we were great friends. Our biggest feud was that she always wanted to rehearse and I wanted to take a nap. It's a huge loss to everyone who knew her. "
